To allow off-site parking 450 feet from city hall; code requires off-site parking to be within 300 feet of the principal use. </li></ul><ul><li>3. To allow the use of an unpaved, gravel parking area; code required all parking areas to provide a hard surface. </li></ul><ul><li>City wants to use the property for temporary, off-site parking for City Hall employees during construction of the library and parking garage. </li></ul><ul><li>The property is a vacant gravel lot and can accommodate a minimum of 42 parking spaces. </li></ul><ul><li>City Manager would like to replace every parking space that has been removed for the construction of the library. Utilization of this lot would accomplish that. </li></ul>

Variances <ul><li>The City plans to secure the area with a fence. </li></ul><ul><li>BSO will provide frequent surveillance of the area & provide security detail while employees will be walking to & from their vehicles in the morning and afternoon. </li></ul><ul><li>The proposed use as a temporary, off-site gravel parking lot is consistent with the goals and objectives of the Community Redevelopment Plan and Comprehensive Plan. </li></ul>
