Outlook express imap settings

  1. 1. Email for Outlook Express on Win XP A setup guide for Jezweb clients using IMAP settings to send and receive emails on Outlook Express.
  2. 2. Open Outlook Express In Outlook Express, open the Tools menu, select Accounts
  3. 3. Accounts Click Add and select Mail
  4. 4. Your Name Type in your name
  5. 5. Email Address Type in your email address
  6. 6. Server Names Incoming mail: Type imap.yourdomain.com.au. For example if your website is www.fish.com.au then type imap.fish.com.au Outgoing mail: Type smtp.yourdomain.com.au. For example if your website is www.fish.com.au then type smtp.fish.com.au Select IMAP for the server
  7. 7. Mail Login Account name: This is your full email address. Password: Type the password that you have been given for this email address.
  8. 8. Congratulations Click Finish
  9. 9. Account Properties Click Properties
  10. 10. Account Properties Click the Servers tab
  11. 11. Server Properties Check the box for My server requires authentication then click OK and then Close.
  12. 12. Download Folder List On the prompt that appears click Yes to download the IMAP folder list
  13. 13. Show IMAP Folders On the following screen click the OK button
  14. 14. Setup Complete You will now have a new branch on the Folders list in Outlook Express. Incoming messages will show in the inbox under this new section
