He has over 25 years of experience with unmanned space systems. He teaches theintroduction to unmanned space systems course for UVU for the Doctorate and Masters Degree inUnmanned Space Systems Engineering. He is a lecturer for the Masters Degree in Space TransportationSystems and Satellites and Space Platforms at the University La Sapienza, Rome. From 2002 to 2012 he wasthe manager of CIRA (Centro Italiano Ricerche Aerospaziali) dedicated to space. In particular, he served ashead of President’s Office for Institutional Relations Development, Head of the Space System Div, Head ofSpace Labs & Facilities Division including the 70MW Plasma Wind Tunnel SCIROCCO, Head of the SpacePrograms Management Division, Program Manager of the USV (Unmanned Space Vehicles Program andDirector of USV Drop Trans- and Supersonic Flight Tests campaigns From 1988 to 2001, he was an employeeof CIRA (Centro Italiano Ricerche Aerospaziali), serving as Head of the Space Activities and Technology,International Relations, Strategic Marketing, Project Manager of the program CRYO, concerning therealization of a facility to test and qualify the liquid oxigen turbo-pumps (LOx-TP) of the space launchersengines of the ARIANE V class, Head of the Aerothermodynamics Dept. He has been responsible of theactivities carried out in the frame of MSTP (Manned Space Transportation Program) and FESTIP (FutureEuropean Space Transportation Investigation Program) under ESA related contracts, Member of the CIRAResearch Coordination Committee, Member of the CIRA Computational Labs Managing Committee, ProgramManager of the Hypersonics/Hermes related activities. He has been in charge of coordination and scientificresponsibility of Italian Fluidynamic Studies within the ESA Hermes R&D Preparatory Program, and of theprogram "Atmospheric Re-entry Aerothermodynamics” funded by the Italian Space Agency (ASI).

Nobile" (IAUN), University of Naplesand served as IAUN-side Project Manager for the definition and design of the Microgravity AdvancedResearch and Support (MARS) Centre, as part of the ground segment of the European Space StationCOLUMBUS, and a member of the team that proposed, designed, tested, controlled and analyzedexperiments performed on board the missions FSLP (1983) and D1 (1985) of the SHUTTLE/SPACELABprogram. He is the author of more than 100 papers presented at national/international congresses and/orpublished by international journals mainly in the fields of Microgravity, Fluidynamics, Supersonics,Hypersonics, Wind Tunnel Design, Space Related Testing Facilities, Reusable Launch Vehicles, Re-entryTechnologies, Tethered Systems. He is or has been member of the International Academy of Astronautics, theInternational Astronautical Federation committees on Commercial Human Spaceflight Safety, SpaceSocieties, Space Exploration, Space Transportation, Space Propulsion, Student Activities. He also member ofLaunchers Program Board of ESA, Association of European Research Establishments in Aerospace (EREA),Chairman of the SCG (Strategy and Coordination Group) of EREA, Manned Spaceflight Program AdvisoryCommittee, FDP-WG-18 of AGARD, Centre for Low Gravity Fluid Mechanics and Transport Phenomena) of theUniversity of Colorado (USA).
