Your Aircraft Records Half of your Aircraft = s Value is tied up in it = s Records <ul><li>How Do You Store Your Records? </li></ul><ul><li>Do You Keep Back Up or Hard Copies? </li></ul><ul><li>Where are all of your Tags? </li></ul><ul><li>Do you take Photographs or Digital Pictures? </li></ul><ul><li>Do you keep Invoices? </li></ul>

CLEANING An easy way to extend the life of your Cosmetics <ul><li>Don = t use Commercial Leather Cleaners </li></ul><ul><li>Have a Teflon Coating Applied to your Paint </li></ul><ul><li>Keep the Aircraft out of the Sun when Parked </li></ul><ul><li>Keep a Desiccant in the Aircraft, for long term Storage </li></ul>
  8. 8. WHO IS WORKING ON YOUR AIRCRAFT? If you take your Aircraft out for Maintenance <ul><li>Repair Station is preferred to an A&P </li></ul><ul><li>Is there Insurance Coverage to cover mistakes? </li></ul><ul><li>Who will be watching your Aircraft for you? </li></ul>

MAINTAINING YOUR AIRCRAFT Good Maintenance is a Philosophy rather than just a Practice <ul><li>Factory Program is always best </li></ul><ul><li>If you are managed on a 135 certificate, under what Type of Maintenance Program is your Aircraft maintained? </li></ul><ul><li>Keep your Aircraft Clean </li></ul><ul><li>Maintain proper Balance, it = s cheap! </li></ul>

BIG DECISONS Should I Overhaul or Not? <ul><li>“ Pay me now, or pay me later @ </li></ul><ul><li>You will normally get your Money Back </li></ul><ul><li>Don = t be Cheap on Cycle Components </li></ul><ul><li>You will not fully realize the value of: 4 Year, 6 Year, 12 Year and on, Inspections </li></ul><ul><li>You will get between 50 and 80% back on Avionics upgrades </li></ul><ul><li>Don = t think recuperation, think market position. The best always sells first! </li></ul>

REPAIRS Damage History, a Nasty Black Mark! <ul><li>If it was done last Month, you might see a 50%+ Loss; Ten plus Years ago, maybe 10% </li></ul><ul><li>Always Demand an original 337 (and 8110-3) </li></ul><ul><li>Take Pictures </li></ul><ul><li>Make sure all Repairs are documented </li></ul><ul><li>If it = s a serialized component like a Flight Control, don = t allow the use of the words: ‘Repair’, if it is to be replaced </li></ul>
  13. 13. UPGRADES Be certain of Value; Before and After the Fact <ul><li>Does your 1971 Falcon 20 really need Proline 21 to achieve RVSM? Remember Bendix King EFIS 10? </li></ul><ul><li>If you are removing passenger seats to comply with equipment or operational law; What = s the best Decision that you can make? Who’s STC are you going to use to remove the seat? Maybe you should keep the seat? </li></ul><ul><li>Cabin and Entertainment Upgrades offer no real Value apart from position </li></ul>

AFTER MARKET Try not to be the First or the Last <ul><li>A Staggerwing Hawker 800 might look good on paper; how will this modification effect Value? </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Having the words: A EXPERIMENTAL @ in your records, may effect Value </li></ul></ul><ul><li>Consider Aesthetics before agreeing to move forward. This applies to: </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Hushkits, Winglets, Lockers, Antennas, Fairings, and many, many more items </li></ul></ul><ul><li>Be very careful with Weight Increases </li></ul>

SELLING Nothing is Forever! <ul><li>To achieve the highest possible selling price, follow my advice </li></ul><ul><li>Be certain of the Marketplace and where your Aircraft fits into it </li></ul><ul><li>Never ship your Records, always carry them on-board </li></ul><ul><li>Hire a professional Aircraft Broker to assist and advise you, and your company </li></ul>
