  6. 6. Objectives:<br />to provide global measurements of aerosols and clouds required to obtain a better understanding of the aerosols and clouds role in the climate system,<br />to improve our abilities to predict long-term climate change and seasonal-to-inter annual climate variability.<br />
  7. 7. The CALIPSO spacecraft uses an innovative lidar (Light Detection and Ranging) and imaging system to reveal the secrets of clouds and aerosols.<br />
