Runners will take the battle against pediatric illnesses tothe street on Saturday, Dec. 8, at the Run for the Kids 5Kat Pemberton Park in Salisbury.

Extra credit -- body • Fill in the blanks with more details • Introduce the sponsoring organization & event specifics The Eastern Shore Running Club will sponsor the race forparticipants of all ages and abilities. The race will begin and end atthe park, at 5561 Plantation Lane, at 7:30 p.m. The cost to participants is $15 in advance and $20 the day ofthe race. Money raised will go to the Maryland Pediatric Hospitalfor children with life-threatening or life-limiting conditions.

Extra credit - body • What’s in it for participants? • Introduce the “swag,” entertainment, contestsParticipants will be treated throughout and after the race withentertainment and prizes, including:• Food from The Olive Garden, Red Lobster and Ruby Tuesday• Free beer (ages 21 and up)• Live bands playing throughout the route and music from DJs until 10 p.m.• A bounce house, games and activities for children• Medals and gift certificates for winners in each age group
