1. As we fly into May we have another busy month with Spring Pictures, Ice Cream Social, and our last ELI trip of the year.
Monday, May 2, is Spring Pictures at 8:30am. If you would like family pictures or pictures with siblings please let me know
and we will try to do those first. The field trip this month is to Dunham Tavern; as this is our last field trip for the ELI
program we hope you can join us. We are taking orders for T-shirts to benefit the Lifka family until Friday, May 6, 2016.
The order forms are by the entrance to the room on a clip board.
Have a great month, Jeni Hoover

A Note from Kendal at Oberlin:
Please consider if the older adults you know and love
might benefit from our compassionate care at Kendal at
Oberlin. We currently have open private rooms in our
Skilled Nursing and Assisted Living wings for short
term rehab and respite stays. We also have the
opportunity to provide several direct entry contracts in
Assisted Living, including two life care contracts. We
would be delighted if you would help “get the word
out” about these wonderful opportunities!
Kendal Intergenerational News:
This month we will be having an Ice Cream Social
on Tuesday, May 3, at 3pm in the auditorium. We
hope you and your family can join us for ice cream.
2. From the KELC Teachers:
From the Classroom:
Wow, our days at Kendal are always so full and fun! This past month we have learned to
quilt with Grandfriend Judy, made maps and went on a scavenger hunt with Grandfriends Jean and
Jan, experimented with making cinnamon-roll French toast muffins with Grandfriend Janet, and we
walked to the library in our pajamas with Grandfriend Marie. We look forward to officially opening
the John Bartram Arboretum next week with our Grandfriends by planting a tree, singing, and
sharing tree facts.
It is sad to see the end of our school year approaching. In preparation for students leaving us
for the summer or for kindergarten (we have 15 going this year!), we have been working hard on
kindergarten skills. We have been practicing lining up, reading, different voice levels for different
areas, and using our words. We are sad to have so many friends that we love dearly leave us, but we
know they are ready and will do very well on the next step of their education journey.
Lots of love! Mary, Sara, Karen, Macie, Robin
