9. WCLS provides public library service at three schools,
supports literacy and school curricula, and informs students,
parents and school-district staff about library resources and
services
Partnership libraries at Duncan Elementary, Verdi
Elementary and Gerlach K-12
WCLS representatives provide library information and
edutainment workshops/presentations and booths @
Reading/Literacy nights, Career Days etc. at elementary,
middle and high schools, and provide Professional
Development workshops for educators.
First Grade Initiative—targeting ALL 1st graders at public and
private schools
Parent University partner providing WCLS informational
workshops, host library tours, Family Access Day
presentations
WCLS partnered in the Striving Readers Grant which
expanded the Parent University/WCLS workshops and added
the school-wide card carrying initiative and public library
tours as part of class offerings
