  1. 1. Area of a Circle By: Sean Ovelmen and Oliver O’Bryan 06.03.09
  2. 2. Problem <ul><li>We had to try and figure out a way to find the area of a circle. </li></ul>
  3. 3. Process 1/3 <ul><li>We cut the circle into 20 small triangles and pasted them into a “rectangle” </li></ul>
  4. 4. Process 2/3 <ul><li>So because the area of a normal rectangle is Length x Width, then we could substitute Length for Circumference and Width for Radius. </li></ul>
  5. 5. Process 3/3 <ul><li>This was the Process of which we came up with a simplified version for the area or a circle A= L x W A= C/2 x r A= πd/2 x r A= π2r/2 x r A= πr x r A= πr 2 </li></ul>
  6. 6. Chalanges <ul><li>Cutting exactly correct was very difficult as well as pasting the pieces down accuratly. </li></ul>
  7. 7. Solution <ul><li>In Conclusion the formula for finding the are of a circle is πr 2 </li></ul>
