  1. 1. Who am I? Joshua Currington, My Collection, 2014 Wednesday, February 19, 14 Who am I? Well, let me tell you a little about myself
  2. 2. Coming from a large family http://www.(lickr.com/photos/89972557@N00/2015713686/   Wednesday, February 19, 14 Hook:  Coming  from  a  family  of  15  it  was  hard  to  (ind  my  niche.  My  specialty.  Most  of  my  siblings  were  great  at  something;  playing  music,  running,  sports,  carpentry,  ect.
  3. 3. http://www.(lickr.com/photos/13071852@N00/3315042730/   Unhealthy child http://www.(lickr.com/photos/11370723@N03/6985455131/   Wednesday, February 19, 14 Root:  I  was  the  only  one  who  was  sickly  as  a  kid  so  I  had  to  spend  most  of  my  time  indoors  with  my  mother.
  4. 4. Everyone had a skill http://www.(lickr.com/photos/49503154413@N01/2911052505/ Wednesday, February 19, 14 .  But  I  didn’t  let  that  stop  me  from  (inding  something  that  made  me  different  from  all  my  siblings. When  you’re  born  to  a  large  family  and  everyone  is  good  at  something,  everyone  but  you,  it  is  really  easy  to  get  lost  in  the  crowd
  5. 5. http://www.(lickr.com/photos/59534766@N00/72352368/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/7185311@N03/1084349065/ I was lost in the crowd Wednesday, February 19, 14 The  urge  to  stand  out  from  the  rest  of  my  siblings,  to  be  recognized  and  remembered  is  what  drives  me.  I  still  carry  that  urge  and  that  (ight  with  me  today.
  6. 6. It molded me http://www.(lickr.com/photos/39276305@N08/4455129423/   Wednesday, February 19, 14 .    Mantra:  My  name  is  Joshua  Currington  and  I  am  a  hard  working,  diligent  and  an  adaptive  3D  artist.
  7. 7. Hard work http://www.(lickr.com/photos/9307441@N05/3395079158/   Wednesday, February 19, 14  I  come  with  a  set  of  skills  that  a  lot  of  other  individuals  don’t.  My  desire  and  my  drive  to  succeed  is  one  of  the  things  that  separates  me  from  others.  I  love  what  I  do.  I  owe  my  tenacity  and  my   work  ethic  to  one  person.  My  mother.
  8. 8. My mother http://usarmy.vo.llnwd.net/e2/-images/2009/10/23/54052/ Wednesday, February 19, 14 My mother is a hardworking and determined individual. She taught me to never give up and that any job worth doing was worth doing right. My name means ‘Soul of my mother’. I strive everyday to live up to that. To be as hardworking and determined as she is.
  9. 9. Diligent http://www.flickr.com/photos/46769540@N00/2572565946/ Wednesday, February 19, 14 Many people start out strong but as time goes on they get tired and want to give up. I have learned, that you can’t do that. Throughout my years in the workforce I’ve seen others give up and not care about the work I do or how the perform. I believe that if you are on time you are late, and if you are early you are on time. I have always shown up early for meetings, work and school and have never once been late. I have received recommendations from former employers for my tenacity and diligence when it comes to my work ethic
  10. 10. Never give up http://www.flickr.com/photos/79874304@N00/121704669/ Wednesday, February 19, 14 Life  has  taught  me  to  never  give  up.  The  race  isn’t  won  be  the  weary  or  the  faint  of  heart.  Just  because  things  get  hard  in  your  life    and  it  looks  like  there  is  no  way  out,  I’ve  learned  to  keep   striving  for  my  goals  and  dreams.  Being  diligent  in  my  studies,  my  work  and  the  pursuit  of  my  dream  is  part  of  who  I  am.
  11. 11. Adaptive http://www.flickr.com/photos/35703177@N00/3149848171/ Wednesday, February 19, 14 Skill  Set  and  Work  Experience:  One  of  my  strongest  traits  is  my  ability  to  adapt  and  to  learn  new  things  quickly.  When  I  was  thrown  into  the  work  force  I  quickly  learned  how  things  ran  in   the  system.  Training  usually  took  3  weeks  but  within  3  days  I  was  able  to  do  all  the  chores  and  responsibilities  of  my  more  seasoned  co-‐workers.
  12. 12. http://www.(lickr.com/photos/70285332@N00/386467416/   http://www.(lickr.com/photos/101125222@N02/12459983484/ 3D Arts http://www.(lickr.com/photos/26817893@N05/2573006312/ http://www.(lickr.com/photos/32179919@N06/3657591549/ Wednesday, February 19, 14 When  I  started  learning  about  3D  arts  at  school  I  quickly  picked  that  up  as  well.  Multiple  times  my  professors  commended  me  for  being  able  to  (inish  a  months  worth  of  work  in  a  week.
  13. 13. Work that I’ve done https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=519823581421235&l=7169715922712345248 https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=519824138087846&l=5188154596997811060 http://www.(lickr.com/photos/39871759@N02/4975380557/ Wednesday, February 19, 14 Work  Samples:  The  (irst  two  animations  were  done  in  my  very  (irst  3D  class.  I  had  never  touched  a  3D  software  package  before.  We  were  given  a  month  to  storyboard,  model,  rig,  animate,   light  and  render  everything  in  the  scene.  I  was  able  to  do  that  and  then  to  complete  another  animation  with  the  same  specs,  yet  of  a  better  quality.  I  received  perfect  marks  in  the  class.
  14. 14. Joshua Currington, My Collection, 2013 Wednesday, February 19, 14 These  models  you  see  here  were  from  the  modeling  class  that  I  had  next.  We  were  tasked  with  creating  props  for  two  sets,  laying  out  UV’s  for  a  third  set  and  (inally  we  were  required  to  model   an  entire  set.  I  completed  the  (irst  3  assignments  in  the  (irst  week  and  a  half  and  took  my  time  on  the  (inal  assignment.   I  also  received  perfect  marks  in  this  class  and  an  award  form  the  Course  Director  for  Excellence  and  helping  the  rest  of  my  classmates  with  all  of  their  props  and  set  as  well.

  17. 17. Joshua Currington, My Collection, 2014 Wednesday, February 19, 14 This here was a prop model that I did for another class. This was done in another new 3D package that we were given in school.
  18. 18. Animation http://www.flickr.com/photos/33907867@N02/7602716384/ Wednesday, February 19, 14 Animation is my passion and has been since I was 8 years old. I love being able to take inanimate objects and give them life. I feel that animation is the life blood of the CGI industry. Granted many other disciplines are important, animation is the key to it all. Without life like animation, we wouldn’t be able to enjoy many of the films that we enjoy today.
  19. 19. Lead Animator http://www.flickr.com/photos/31925990@N00/2553044745/ Wednesday, February 19, 14 Success  De:ined:  I  started  my  journey  with  the  hope  of  one  day  starting  my  own  animation  studio.  That  is  where  I  want  to  end  up  once  I  retire  from  the  industry.  But  that  won’t  be  for  many   years.  Right  now,  my  dream  is  to  be  an  animator  for  DreamWorks  Animation  SKG.  They’ve  produced  some  of  the  best  works  in  CGI  (ilms.  Films  that  I  love  and  to  this  day,  still  watch.  Working   with  them  is  what  I  will  do.  There  is  no  question  about  that.
