First a person must know how to read notes. They need to learn their major and minor scales. Then they must be tested of their knowledge before moving on.

Later after all the assessments the instructor may introduce the instruments that the student will play.

The instructor may let the more experienced students come in to show them how to take care of an instrument, assemble it, and how to play it.

First of all . . . Instruments

After learning the basics of reading music and how to assemble an instrument it’s time to actually hold one.

The student will have to learn the fingering of the instrument in order to get the right note out of the instrument. But for percussion they need to know what everything is from the tambourine to the bass drum.

The students will have to learn how to blow into the instrument and in what way in order to get a sound out. But for percussion they should be working on reading tabs and what sticks they have to use.

Next up is . . .

Practice is the key to success. If you don’t practice you won’t get better. If you only use class time to practice you are wasting the teacher’s time and your own.

You should go to a quiet room and practice everyday for at least an hour. Remember that you have to take a break for at least ten minutes. Over exhaustion is not what you want to achieve.

This practice makes your mouth muscles or if you’re a percussion student your forearm muscles endurance level higher. It enables you to play for a longer period of time.

There is so much more . . .

In order to become better at playing an instrument all you have to do is practice all the time.

You could try to go through a lesson book or play more difficult pieces of music.

The more the key change the better.

If you know that there are people that play better than you then you should ask them what their secret to success. There are lots of little short cuts in playing an instrument that only an experienced player may know.

Doing it Over Again

You can’t expect to be a good musician if you don’t work hard and practice and know how to ask for help.

You could go to clinics where professionals could tutor you about your instrument and what the proper way of taking care of it is.

You can’t say that you aren’t able to do something because eventually you will make it true.

You have to believe in yourself and never give up and keep on practicing.

No one started off good they had to work hard to get to where they’re at.

Determination and Hard Work

When you are a musician anything can happen. You could even go to the Olympics and play in an Orchestra. You could go to Australia for a music competition or you could travel to Japan just to play at Disneyland.

There are so many possibilities if you work hard and you believe in yourself.

Living as a musician is an adventure because you never know what will happen next.

Never give up on yourselves and never give up on your fellow musicians because anything is possible.

You Can Do Anything

Being a musician may not be something you want to become but you can’t say that without trying.

Life is full of surprises you never know if you’re the next Ray Charles. Just try it out and see if you like it.

Enjoy What Life Has to Offer Ray Charles
