2. 2. Three Distinct Initiatives
Continuity of Operations
Application Portfolio Inventory
IT Disaster Recovery
LDRPS allows us to leverage efforts between these initiatives.
3. 3. Definitions
COOP – Continuity of Operations.
Essential Functions – Functions that enable government Agencies to provide vital services, exercise civil authority, maintain the safety and well being of the general populace and sustain the industrial/economic base during an emergency.
API – Application Portfolio Inventory.
4. 4. Essential Functions
Department/Agency identifies its essential functions. Essential functions can be represented as processes in the root-level plan.
5. 5. Processes
Bureau A
Bureau B
Bureau C
Bureaus within the Department/Agency identify business processes which support the essential functions either directly or indirectly. Processes will typically identify essential functions (and other processes) as downstream dependencies and applications (and other processes) as upstream dependencies.
6. 6. Processes Support Essential Functions
Bureau A COOP Plan
Root-Level COOP Plan
Bureau B COOP Plan
Bureau C COOP Plan
7. 7. Applications Support Processes
Bureau A COOP Plan
Bureau B COOP Plan
Bureau C COOP Plan
8. 8. Applications
Department/Agency API users (IT personnel) maintain application information in LDRPS. Interdependencies between applications should be identified by API users.
9. 9. API Data
The Application screen was customized to hold API data.
10. 10. API Reports
Customized reports developed specifically for the API
11. 11. Hardware
IT personnel maintain Systems Disaster Recovery plans for restoring servers and other hardware systems. Servers will typically identify applications as downstream dependencies.
