Audio Configuration Tutorial

  1. 1. How to set up your microphone : This tutorial explains how to configure the Realtek Audio Manager for recording purposes.
  2. 2. BEFORE STUDENTS PLUG IN HEADPHONES: Open the Realtek Audio Manager. This can be found in the Control Panel.
  3. 3. Choose Audio I/O tab
  4. 4. Click the wrench under the Analog Section
  5. 5. Deselect “Mute rear panel” Deselect “Enable auto popup dialog” Select “disable front panel jack det.” This should prevent a popup box from continually ‘popping up’ on some of the students’ screens. I’ve found that on some computers, it will inevitably happen anyway. : ( You don’t HAVE to do this, but like I said, some kids will have an annoying popup that won’t go away, and you’ll have to deal with them
  6. 6. Now, Click “information”
  7. 7. Select Show icon in sys. Tray It should be green.
  8. 8. Use 3D demo to test if the student can hear with their headphones
  9. 9. Make sure all levels are up, especially Record, Front Mic and Mic Volume
  10. 10. Also, open these tiny icons, one by one, and…
  11. 11. … boost the mic
  12. 12. Make sure nothing is “muted”
  13. 13. Right click the icon in the system tray Select the Sound Recorder And test if they can record. If so, they’re good to go!
