Executive Summary, LivingAds®: RTC Advertising Switchboard, David Uhalley & Brian Boyajian

  1. Problem: What happens once a consumer clicks on a served ad has essentially remained the same for the past 20 years. Despite considerable industry resources expended on profiling, targeting, and analytics, few practical innovations have impactfully advanced the consumer’s post-click actionable ad-experience. Consumers increasingly expect inquiry convenience and personalized presentations, not click throughs to advertiser’s sites, canned videos, contact and feedback forms, bots, being put on hold, or waiting for a call or text back. Solution: “LivingAds” connects advertisers with consumers in real-time, right from the instance of the ad itself. We embed Real-Time Communications (RTC) capabilities directly within served ads, including IM, audio, and (1 or 2 way) camming; with an invitation-to-click prompt showing that advertiser’s “Live” engagement option. Even after being served static, ads can be switched on-the-fly to become communication enabled LivingAds. This first of its kind RTC Advertising leverages ad-reach to facilitate in-the-moment Live Ad-engagement; shortcutting the consumer’s journey directly to the advertiser and personalizing the sales experience. Live Ad-engagements can be 1:1 or 1:many; with direct exchanges, screen share, storefronts and other unique privileges. LivingAds® Real-Time Communications Advertising MyRobot, llc 2284 Vineyard Rd. Although limited technologically, “ClickToCall” is a dated mobile web-to-phone carrier calling feature most exploiting the huge live Ad-engagement opportunity. Marchex estimated that advertisers spent $13b in 2019 with ClickToCall for paid search alone. Leading companies see demand for direct ad-engagement growing significantly, and are now introducing extensions allowing consumers to phone-text to mobile ads. Unfortunately this will also result in phone # privacy loss and unsolicited bot contact. Competitive Landscape: RTC is advancing rapidly, but not so within the ad-ecosystem. Zoom leads the world in modern enterprise video communications, with Slack also a popular option for businesses. Twilio creates RTC apps. Twitch’s Houseparty is a social network. YouNow and WeChat are cam/chat solutions, and Facebook Live offers its members videocasting. All those initiatives do involve RTC, but not for live Ad-engagements. Facebook permits ad-texting inside their Messenger app, AdWords offers SMS “Click-To-Message” mobile ad-texting, Apple’s “Business Chat” is ad-texting from Search, and Google is now testing "Conversational Ads"- bot response messaging inside display ads. However, each of those platforms only offers texting, gives no indication if the advertiser is actually available, or even that the response received isn’t from a bot. In sharp contrast, LivingAds are platform independent, only invite engagement when the advertiser’s status is “Live”, and offers anonymous real-time live text, audio and cam options. Traction to Date: LivingAds demos are prototypes available for Live online presentation. The Company filed for a utility patent entitled, “Systems and Methods of Delivering Advertising Over Networks”, which included a broad range of RTC-specific methods and unique menu of RTC ad features. A continuation-in-part (CIP) patent application was also filed to include additional enhancements of the LivingAds system architecture. Patent pursuit aside, competition for customers and commerce is increasingly conducted over network connected devices, and we believe it’s only a matter of time before full-feature Live Ad-engagement becomes commonplace. Management Team: Founders, David Uhalley and Brian Boyajian are both experienced entrepreneurs. The Advisory Board includes Dr. Alexandre Gouaillard, world leading RTC expert and W3C Real-Time Standards Committee member; and Daniel Ozick, former Sr. Software Engineer and Architect at iRobot. Business Model: LivingAds can piggyback onto existing ad campaigns, with a dashboard to embed and activate its RTC Ad tools. Whether in strategic partnership with Ad Networks, Lead Generators, CRMs, Contact Centers, Search, Directory, Classifieds or Marketplace publishers; revenue streams can be modeled. The system’s flexibility could provide for custom monetization schemes based on feature selections, use-frequency, engagement time, or transactions. First to Market in partnership with established industry players is an obvious go-to-market choice, while outright licensing of our static-to-live “Switchboard” IP is an alternative option.
