  3. 3. North America The Bald Eagle is national emblem of United States and is the only eagle native to North America. Luckily, over the last 45 years its population has risen from only 1000 birds to 70000 of which half live in Alaska. The Brown Bear or Grizzly Bear as it is often known can grow to 800lbs which is over 4 times as much as a human. They are however extremely fast and agile and can even climb trees. HOME
  4. 4. Africa Gorillas live in large family groups in dense scrub across Africa. They eat mainly plants but will eat fruit and sometimes ants and grubs they are generally peaceful and gentle animals. The Africa elephant is bigger relative of Asian species and is the world’s largest living land animal. Some have been known to eat over 200kgs of vegetation a day. Their ivory tusks were sadly once used to make piano keys. HOME
  5. 5. South America Blue macaws usually live in pairs or in larger flocks along the rivers of south America and panama. They are predominately seeds, fruit and nuts. South America frogs are brightly coloured to warm predators that they are usually highly poisonous. The blue poison frog is considered endangered and is found in brazil. HOME
  6. 6. Australia The dugong lives in Australia with its cousin the manatee around the Florida coast America. Part of the sea cow family, they are shy harmless creatures that are vegetarian and have no natural predators however they are very sensitive to cold temperatures. Koalas are very fussy eaters having particular favourite of eucalyptus tree to feed on. They live in small communities of other koalas and sleep for up to 18 hours a day. HOME
  7. 7. Asia <ul><li>The Bengal Tiger is found throughout India and the Himalayas. It will eat just about anything even humans. It’s beautiful colouration and makings are as unique as a fingerprint to each animal. scientists still debate whether the giant panda is type of bear or racoon. Unlike other bears it doesn't hibernate but it does enjoy a little honey when it can lay its paws on some. Otherwise it lives almost entirely on bamboo. </li></ul>HOME
  8. 8. EUROPE <ul><li>This species of monk seal grows from approximately 80 cm long at birth to an average of 7.8 ft. in adults. They later weigh up to 690 lbs., females being slightly smaller than males. In most respects, the Iberian lynx resembles other species of lynx, with a short tail, tufted ears and a ruff of fur beneath the chin. While the Eurasian Lynx bears rather pallid markings, the Iberian lynx has distinctive, leopard-like spots with a coat that is often light grey or various shades of light brownish-yellow. </li></ul>HOME
