A little presentation I gave at university to convince other students to go to Barcamps.

  2. 2. Barcamps? (Un-)Conference Everyone helps out (Orga-Team, Sessions) All attendees decide on the timetable most of the Barcamps are free (Sponsors) can have special topics -> Railscamp, Photocamp, Porkcamp mostly tech related topics more info:
  3. 3. A typical Barcamp
  4. 4. Saturday 9 am : pre-Barcamp breakfast 10 am : Introduction, describe yourself in three tags to other attendees (can take a long time :D) 11 am : Session planning, describe your session and let attendees decide which room you get 11:30am - 1:30pm: Session slot 1 1:30pm - 2:30pm: Lunch/Buffet
  5. 5. Saturday (2) 2:30pm - 5:30pm: Session slot 2 5:30pm - 6:30pm: Diner/Buffet 6:30pm - open end: drink-up/session preparation
  6. 6. Sunday pretty much the same as Saturday, but breakfast starts later ;)
  7. 7. Benefits Networking Friends / Persons with the same interests Jobs / Projects Learn to present (yourself) Learning People can show you new stuff You can show people new stuff Food, Fun, Free shirts ;)
