  1. 1. Creating a Typical Native American Myth<br />Your job will be to show you understand the attributes of NA myths by mimicking one. Following is a check list of attributes.<br />
  2. 2. What is the world like at the beginning of your tale/myth?<br />Mystic time/space setting<br />
  3. 3. Consider adding symbolic items like an American flag, river of life, bull… You can read on symbolism in literature and storytelling below if you would like to try this optional addition.<br />
  4. 4. What is missing from this place?<br />
  5. 5. How is this place going to transform into current reality?<br />
  6. 6. Which characters will be involved in this change?<br />
  7. 7. Which characters will shape shift and how?<br />
  8. 8. How is something created out of this event? This could be a rule, natural law, part of nature or role played by society/animals/science.<br />
  9. 9. What is the lesson learned? This could be a real lesson followed by your culture or a made up one like ‘always whistle before walking under a bridge’.<br />
  10. 10. Trickster Tales Only<br />If this is your trickster tale what sly trick will the trickster try to do?<br />How will the trickster look goofy or get tricked back?<br />Who is your trickster? Coyote, or another traditional name or animal?<br />
