  4. 4.  The French slogan of “Liberty, Equality, Fraterni ty” became a world wide rallying cry.  People all over the world wanted the freedoms the Enlightenment spoke of.  People all over Europe, in countries Napoleon had conquered, fought back against Napoleon to get the promise of freedom. Liberte, Egalite, Fraternite!

  7. 7.   After nearly 20 years of near constant war, Napoleon surrendered the throne in 1814 and was exiled to Elba Island.  But in 1815, he got bored. He went back to France, took back over and started the 100 Days. This was a final attempt to take over. To Elba and Back
  8. 8.   Napoleon’s armies engaged a coalition (team-up) of his enemies at the Battle of Waterloo. Napoleon lost and was sent to St. Helena, another island.  He died there in seclusion.
