4. Introduction
• The status of women in Bangladesh is defined by struggle to
massive improvement over the years. The Bangladeshi women
have made massive gains since the country gained its
independence in 1971. Most women's lives remained centered on
their traditional roles, and they had limited access
to markets, productive services, education, health care, and local
government. They have to face lots of problem. But now as of
2013, the Prime Minister of Bangladesh, the Speaker of
Parliament, the Leader of the Opposition and the Foreign
minister were women .
5. PROFILE OF SELIMA AHMED
• Selma Ahmad, President of the Bangladesh Women Chamber of
Commerce and Industry (BWCCI) is the developing world’s
personification business woman who was acutely aware of the
need for a national body, which represented the interests and
supported the initiatives of women entrepreneurs. She has been
working for the private sector development for last 28 years and
helped to promote the development of more than 7,000 women
entrepreneurs by planning, designing and facilitating different
programs. She organized the 1st Women’s National Business
Agenda (WNBA), 2009 and successfully steered all stakeholders to
make the WNBA declaration. Selima Ahmed is a vice Chairperson
of the Nitol-Niloy Group is the quintessential successful woman.
6. Salima Ahmed career
• President and founder of the Bangladesh Women Chamber of
Commerce and Industry (BWCCI).
• Salima Ahmad Vice Chairperson of the Nitol-Niloy Group, is the
quintessential successful woman.
• She also faculty of American International University (AIUB).

7. METHOD OF INVESTIGATION
• The main source of data we used information from internet. Our main
target was comprehensive study about women's career and power. We find
some information about this topic by talking Salima Ahmed over the phone.
8. Do women experience worse career outcomes?
(Occupational sex-typing)
• Yes I think so. Sometime women have to face this type of problem.. Not
only in their career stage in their educational life they had to face lots of
problem. This is one of the biggest problem in our society. This problem is
increasing day by day. We have a law to protect it but that don’t work in
practical life. In their career life they have lots of challenge. We are try to
protect it.
9. Are Bangladeshi women more likely to drop
out of the labor force?
• - No I don’t think it. Women labor force will be increase.
Women's are also try depend their own life. Now women labor
force percentage is increase. They also try to help their family.
Government are always try to increase the women labor force.
10. Do Bangladeshi women work fewer hours?
• . I think working hard has no alternative. There are
days when I work 12-15 hours a day and go to bed at
3.00 am in morning. Now a days Bangladeshi women
are working very hard. They are more serious about
their career.
• They are working 8-10 hours just like a men.
11. Do Bangladeshi women suffer a larger marriage and
childhood penalty than men?
• Yes I think that. There are lots of girl live in
Bangladesh who are married in their childhood life. But
now a day’s childhood marriage percentage are
decreased. There are lots of women who are suffer for
their childhood marriage. But some women are
working hard and grow up there self. We are working
for this and we are try to decrees childhood marriage
percentage.
12. Do Bangladeshi women have a different orientation toward power
and negotiation?
• Yes they have but not for all of them. Women are less
powerful in Bangladesh, but now a day a lot of women
are coming to become independent. Thousands of
women in Bangladesh are now running their own
businesses, taking on new challenges. BWCCI is a strong
community voice, lobbying for micro to macro women
entrepreneurs to assist their growth and to improve their
social and economic prospects. To help women make the
leap beyond the micro level. Govt also help women to
build up there life.
13. Are Bangladeshi women are less competitive?
• Yes Bangladeshi women are less competitive than other countries
women’s. Because in Bangladesh most of the women are uneducated.
Educated women also are not intend to do their own business.
Women's are don’t know how to run a business. But now a days girls
education percentage are increasing. Many women's are try to build
up there own business. Government and other concerned and
responsible stakeholders like us should come forward and play a very
vital role by building capacity of women entrepreneurs, by engaging
them in multiple sectors, and by opening up more opportunities for
women.
14. So what should women do?
• Women empowerment in Bangladesh means giving women
of the country the power to rule and govern their own lives,
away from traditional and social constraints. Global NGO’s
that are working towards helping women get empowered in
Bangladesh. They have to work hard and independently.
They have to prepared them self to take challenge.
Education is very important for every women.
15. CONCLUTION
• Bangladeshi women's are work hard day bye day. They are improve there self
and now a days working women's percentage are increasing. They prove
there self.
