  3. 3. Eyes are immediately drawn to differences in color, now focus on the tone of those colors Focus on Contrast
  4. 4. Mostly Light (high key) Tones Full Range Mostly Dark Tones (low key) Tonal intensity will effect mood of photo
  5. 5. Emphasis Line & Shapes Color mood is lost and thus line mood is enhanced.
  6. 6. Emphasis Texture & Patterns Often blurred when in color, high contrast texture and patterns gain life in B&W.
  7. 7. Light-Light-Light Consideration 1) Intensity of light More intense = softer the image Less Intense = Dramatic the image
  8. 8. Light-Light-Light Consideration 2) Shadows from Light *Direction of shadows is paramount
  9. 9. Colors Do Count Different Shadings, Tones, Intensities will result in different grays. Photoshop allows for adjustment of colors individually
