The client is a top architectural magazine called Architectural Digest, It reviews the top and
most contemporary architectural designs and architects in the world. This is a go to
magazine for the latest in style buildings. Its often where fashion brands such as Armarni,
Prada & D&G go to recruit or look at past architects work before deciding whether to give
them a job. You can see this by looking through past issues where they have written articles
about these designs.
This, however was not why I was hired to photograph the Cambridge colleges. I was hired
to photograph the colleges because they have a historical section where they focus on
famous buildings of the past. Previous issues have focused on buildings from the
renaissance, Manchester Cathedral.
The subject matter is one that, after looking at and reading the magazine totally fits the
ethos of the publication.
The quality of photographs published is professional standard and will have been completed
by people who have degrees or have worked in photography for a long time.
Comparing my images to ones published in the historical feature section, I would say that
the similarities are there and that I helped to maintain the professional look of the magazine.
