This document discusses routing protocols for IPv6, including both internal routing protocols like RIPng, IS-IS, and OSPFv3, as well as the external routing protocol BGP4+. It provides an overview of how each protocol functions for IPv6, highlighting updated features from the IPv4 versions like new address families and attributes. The conclusions emphasize that major routing protocols now have stable IPv6 support and do not require significant changes from IPv4 operation.
PostgreSQL 9.5 includes several new features including enhanced security, improved integration with foreign data, support for big data and analytics, noSQL enhancements, development features, and better performance and scalability. Some key additions are row level security for data access control, improved foreign data wrapper functionality, BRIN indexes for large datasets, JSON enhancements, UPSERT functionality, and parallel vacuum for faster maintenance. EnterpriseDB's PPAS platform adds additional security, Oracle compatibility, and replication features as well.
This is the presentation used at Dec 2014 Meetup event for Postgres User Group, Singapore.
I discussed on key highlight features of v9.4 of PostgreSQL.
This document provides biographical information about an individual. It mentions that she was a cheerleader for 12 years of school and competed for her high school and all-star cheerleading team. It also notes that she has been with her fiancé Jarrod since 7th grade and shares pictures with her best friends from school. Additionally, it discusses her aspirations to become a teacher and how she enjoys babysitting and watching two children, Ali and Carson, grow up.
Explains social media platforms; how patients, researchers & physicians are using social media; and presents the CTN study CHIWOS: our first study to have a social media strategy and ethics approval.

Beyond Postgres: Interesting Projects, Tools and forksSameer Kumar
This ppt was used at Aug Meetup of Postgres User Group Singapore. We talked about
• Cool tools and extensions like PostGIS
• Great projects like pgpool and pgbouncer
• Interesting forks of PostgreSQL like EnterpriseDB, GreenPlum etc
Interesting take-away from the session was -
• Ease Oracle Migration
• Load Balancing in PostgreSQL
• Spatial data in PostgreSQL
• Connection pooling and resource management
• Your next Data Warehouse project

Streaming Replication Made Easy in v9.3Sameer Kumar
This document discusses setting up streaming replication in PostgreSQL v9.3 to enable high availability. It covers preparing primary and standby servers, configuring wal_level and max_wal_senders on the primary, taking a backup and restoring on the standby, creating a recovery.conf file, starting the servers to test replication, triggering failover by promoting the standby, handling multiple replicas without rebuilding, and rebuilding the original primary as a new standby. Monitoring replication status is also addressed using views like pg_stat_replication.
Connection Pooling in PostgreSQL using pgbouncer Sameer Kumar
The presentation was presented at 5th Postgres User Group, Singapore.
It explain how to setup pgbouncer and also shows a few demonstration graphs comparing the advantages/gains in performance when using pgbouncer instead of direct connections to PostgreSQL database.
This document provides an overview of tuning important memory and disk parameters for a PostgreSQL database, including shared_buffers, effective_cache_size, wal_buffers, work_mem, checkpoint_segments, checkpoint_completion_target, checkpoint_timeout, bgwriter_delay, and random_page_cost. It also recommends keeping data, WAL, and archive files on separate disks and provides contact information for the author.
