  2. 2. Weight and length They are typically 31 lbs and 53 in.
  3. 3. Body Coverings They are usually brown. They are also covered in fur.
  4. 4. How do they breathe? They breathe through their lungs. Just like humans!
  5. 5. Born alive or eggs? They are mammals so they are typically born alive. So, they are born alive.
  6. 6. What are babies called and how many at a time? They young are called pups. The mother typically has two or three at a time.
  7. 7. How do they travel? They either walk or swim. They are faster than a child walking. Also, they are great swimmers!
  8. 8. Where do they live? They live in the United States. But, they don’t live in the Florida Keys. Probably because it is too hot.
  9. 9. Migrate or Hibernate? Surprisingly, they do neither! A lot of the places they live have snowy winters so, they probably adapted!
  10. 10. Warm or Cold- Blooded? They are warm blooded. That’s probably why they don’t migrate or hibernate!
  11. 11. What do they eat? They are carnivores so, they eat meat!
  12. 12. How do they protect themselves? They either fleet, come up to land, or take refuge. Also, they are predators so, they don’t have many predators.
  13. 13. Are they endangered? They are not endangered! So, they probably won’t be for a long time!
  14. 14. Need a new pet? Well, you can legally own one as a pet!! But sadly, you probably can’t buy one at your local pet store.
  15. 15. Get of my land! Stay of of an otter´s turf because their home land is as big as 50 miles! Get Out!!!!!
  16. 16. Don´t leave me! Sea otters hook hands when the sleep so they don't drift away from each other! Night Night!
  17. 17. Don´t touch that! Otters carry a ´favorite rock´ around in a skin pouch and use it to open shellfish and clams!
