WWII Research Lesson 2 - Using books

  2. 2. Module Outcome <ul><li>Pupils will produce a Who Wants to be a Millionaire quiz </li></ul><ul><li>or </li></ul><ul><li>Newspaper reports and diary entries </li></ul><ul><li>These final outcomes will demonstrate your research and learning about WWII </li></ul>
  3. 3. Learning objective <ul><li>To use books to research your particular topic </li></ul><ul><li>To use skimming/scanning techniques </li></ul><ul><li>To highlight and take notes on key facts </li></ul>
  4. 4. Task One <ul><li>Think of at least four keywords that you will use to help you find information for your research </li></ul><ul><li>These will be words that you might look for in the index/contents pages of books, or search for on search engines </li></ul>
  5. 5. Begin your research <ul><li>Use the books provided to begin your research </li></ul><ul><li>Use the index and contents pages to check whether a book has the information you are looking for. </li></ul><ul><li>Skim/scan the text, looking for key words and information </li></ul><ul><li>Then read the text carefully once you have found relevant information </li></ul>
