    IUCN has a new ‘Water Policy and Sustainability Advisor’ – Patrick MacQuarrie. He has experience of transboundary cooperation in water management, water policy, conflict management, hydropolitics, etc.. He also has good skills and experience in learning and dialogue facilitation

INTERNATIONAL UNION FOR CONSERVATION OF NATURE • A series of facilitated phone discussions to: – Discuss case studies of practical applications (an opportunity to feed into the TDA/SAP & PM manual libraries) – Formulate personal action plans for project applications and ongoing learning (an interactive session on how to use this kind of information in project planning, what process to feed into, what are the gaps?) Follow-up to and preparation for regional workshops

INTERNATIONAL UNION FOR CONSERVATION OF NATURE Based on inputs to date, the topics will be: • effective collection of socio-economic information for the valuation of environmental goods and services • linking freshwater and marine projects including in a TDA/SAP context • mainstreaming climate change consideration into projects planning and implementation • stakeholder engagement including the private sector and in national demonstrations Follow-up to and preparation for regional workshops

INTERNATIONAL UNION FOR CONSERVATION OF NATURE • Covering priority topics identified so far – benefit sharing dialogues – institutional reform processes – multi-stakeholder platforms – mainstreaming climate change – ecosystem valuations and PES schemes • an introduction on why the topic was identified as a challenging area for project implementation • a set of 5-6 simple questions framing the problem from the Project’s viewpoint in an FAQ style Learning resource briefs

INTERNATIONAL UNION FOR CONSERVATION OF NATURE • For each question, a link to various resources, with very brief annotation that would help the Project Manager or others quickly identify what is going to be useful to them. • Should we include links to a selection of experience notes, results notes, news items etc?
