There will be a fair amount of integration testing and web services testing that ensure the software system is doing its intended job well. There are tools that are available to test for integration in addition to manual testing. Support for disparate devices means testing for multiple protocols and the ability of the software to render those. This will be tested for multiple devices as well as multiple browsers across operating systems if it is web application. If it is a standalone application, then it will be tested only for those specific devices where it is made available. High volume transaction capabilities of the software can be tested through performance testing activities, where we can figure out the load that it can handle and the load at which the software system breaks.
