  3. 3. IUKWC was established in July 2016 by NERC and MoES initially for a year The Centre aims to support the development of the sustained and meaningful interdisciplinary UK-India partnerships needed to deliver collaborative water resources research
  4. 4. Additional funding received from NERC & MoES in 2017 for extension of the centre for further two years
  5. 5. 5 Cross-sectoral Themes Developing hydro-climatic services to support water security Building cross-sectoral collaborations to understand the dynamic interactions across the water-energy-food nexus Using new scientific knowledge to help stakeholders set objectives for freshwater management Improving freshwater monitoring frameworks and data for research and management Transforming science into catchment management solutions

Functions of the Centre • Research Community • Stakeholder community Engaging the Community Series of initiatives designed to engage the community • The Open Network which is an online database of researchers and Stakeholders enabling you to find details of potential collaborators Community news forum to inform members on latest opportunities and activities under various joint India – UK projects

  10. 10. • Join the Open Network of India- UK Water Scientists • Respond to calls to take part in science workshops • Submit a proposal under the bi- annual calls for activity funding • Join the online conversation via the webinars and online discussion forum How to get involved
  11. 11. • First webinar held on Engaging Stakeholders in Climate Services in India (12th June 2017). • Online discussion forum to be launched very soon as a place to share ideas and information on events/outputs, or seek help from the Community. • All free to join/use as a registered Open Network Member.
