The tool was originally developed as an internal communication system for the genealogy website Geni.”  Launched in 2008 by a former PayPal guy  In 2010, Yammer 2.0 was launched and described as a “Facebook for Business”  Sold to Microsoft in 2012 for $1.2 Billion Freemium, Enterprise Social Software Yammer is 100% Cloud.
