Reflex action revision . <ul><li>Key points. </li></ul><ul><li>A receptor detects a stimulus –this can be anything that causes a sense organ to activate. </li></ul><ul><li>A sensory neurone transmits the electrical impulse. </li></ul><ul><li>At the junction between two neurones, the synapse, chemical transmitters are released. </li></ul>

Reflex action revision . <ul><li>Key points. </li></ul><ul><li>A relay neurone passes the impulse on within the CNS (this is often shaded grey). </li></ul><ul><li>A motor neurone is then stimulated. </li></ul><ul><li>This impulse is then sent to the effector, this can be a muscle or a gland. </li></ul><ul><li>Action is taken. </li></ul>
