  • I think that 90% of what is written above, in Android Peeks - android market, is quite well research and makes perfect sense: it's not that easy to find relevant info on market watch. I would love to have the time to refute the last bit as, if you spent just a little more time doing the research, you would immediately notice that there is plenty of room for refutation but I can't seem to be able to find the quotation I'm looking for. You know, the one from the famous French author who says the exact opposite of your last point and spends about 5 chapters explaining, in painful details, why it's impossible for you to be right. Can anyone help me please? I think the title had Thursday somewhere.

  • If you re-read the above comments, at the beginning of Weekend Technical Analysis - Mt. Everest Is No Problem For This Market...Watch For Land Slides!, don't you notice that you are arguing the same point but differently (I'm referring to market watchand therefore contradicting the main point and making this a lot less pertinent? I will come back next Monday to see how this has evolved.

Challenge 1: Availability of creative content <ul><li>Lack of availability of creative content for online distribution and lack of active licensing of rights on new platforms remain major obstacles for the development of online content services. Since online content is a nascent market, the value of new forms of distribution is sometimes still unknown. This results in major difficulties in settling terms of trade for online exploitation of creative content. Most of the difficulties related to availability of content are considered as inherent to emerging markets, and stakeholders are expected to find innovative and collaborative solutions to exploit content online and prevent or remedy bundling, exclusivity or non-use of media rights. </li></ul>
  4. 4. Challenge 2: Multi-territory licensing for creative content <ul><li>The online environment allows content services to be made available across the Internal Market. However, the lack of multi-territory copyright licenses makes it difficult for online services to fully benefit from the Internal Market potential. While it is first for right holders to appreciate the potential benefits of multi-territory licensing, there is a need to improve the existing licensing mechanisms to allow for the development of multi-territory licensing mechanisms. </li></ul>

Challenge 3: Interoperability and transparency of Digital Rights Management systems (DRMs) <ul><li>Technologies allowing management of rights in the online environment can be a key enabler for the content sector's digital shift and for the development of innovative business models - especially with regard to high value content. As lengthy discussions among stakeholders did not yet lead to the deployment of interoperable DRM solutions, there is a need to set a framework for transparency of DRMs regarding interoperability, by ensuring proper consumer information with regards to usage restrictions and interoperability. </li></ul>
  6. 6. Challenge 4: Legal offers and piracy <ul><li>Piracy and unauthorised up - and downloading of copyrighted content remains a central concern. It would seem appropriate to instigate co-operation procedures (&quot;code of conduct&quot;) between access/service providers, right holders and consumers in order to ensure a wide online offer of attractive content, consumer-friendly online services, adequate protection of copyrighted works, awareness raising/education on the importance of copyright for the availability of content and close cooperation fight piracy / unauthorised file-sharing. </li></ul>

Methodology on gathering the information <ul><li>To gather the information that would be relative to the incubates a set of sources have been used and a number of extra tools have been developed. ATHEX Content conversion <ul><li>When you present information that is daily updated, it is considered to be crucial that the format is the same, so that the recipient of the information be equitant and he or she does not have to look continuously to identify the sections that are more interested to him. The presentation of the daily Indices data, regarding the ICT sector, from Athens Stock Exchange ATHEX was achieved by implementing a macro module in MS Word (see Annex 1: Macro Code for ASE Content Conversion) where with few daily commands the content from the ATHEX web was converted to satisfy the requirements of the Technology and market watch tool. </li></ul>
