LinkedIN lost momentum in all industries:Hiring, Networking and Media

Published in: Business
  • I have found Linkedin to be very helpful in my line of work. I don't always understand how it works, but I am learning. Yes its true that there are many bogus people here, but there are also many leads and helpful and interesting information.

  • @Alexander Blumenau Thank you for your comment. And you are absolutely right. It should be like that. But is it easy for you to manage all your contacts? Is LinkedIn a comfortable for business communications? Or is it a great media to share the ideas and create a personal content? My arguments - it is NOT. LinkediN doesn`t satisfy nether of this needs. Again, I agree this is only the alternative to FB by now. But it also means, if LinkedIN doesn’t change, then new tools will take its place.

  • To me and many of my ex-colleagues, LinkedIn serves mainly as a business-Facebook. A platform to stay in contact with former colleagues and to be connected with business partners. In my industries, colleagues and partners usually do not connect via Facebook, as this is considered mixing private and professional life. It simply is seen as unprofessional to do that. So LinkedIn is the only serious alternative (besides Xing which is more prominent in Europe/Germany). Here, from the perspective of the working professional, be it company- or self-employed, LinkedIn fully fulfils its purpose. It is THE platform for PERSONAL professional networking. This was always its main purpose anyway, as far as I understood. It appears not perfect when it comes to semi-anonymous company-customer interaction, such as sales, neither for mass-recruiting. On the other hand it is a good platform for headhunters and hiring staff to find interesting candidates and get in first contact for individual hiring of experts, which are a sparse breed.
