  2. 2. Construction on the Tower of London firstbegan in 1066 by William the Conquerorwith others adding parts to the buildingover time. The Tower of London has served many different purposes; castle, prison, armoury, treasury, observatory, menagerie and nowadays it is a museum.
  3. 3. Kings and Queens have both been imprisoned in the Tower. Some were executed and somewere murdered. Queen Anne Boleyn, thesecond wife of Henry VIII wasbeheaded at the Tower. People claim to have seen her ghost walkingaround the grounds with her headunder her arm.
