Introduction • Recognition of the challenges facing to achieve GTP targets • WASH service through collaboration between the private and public partnership • Importance of identifying critical bottlenecks of the private sector • UNICEF (DFID) initiative to support OWNP by enhancing private sector role MSF 7
  4. 4. Private Sector Mapping • Drilling Companies – 96 Private companies – 180 Drilling Rigs • Contractors – 993 Contractors with renewed licences • Consulting Firms – 45 (39 located in AA) • Suppliers (Est. 10 Difficult to map) MSF 7
  5. 5. Key findings 1- Opportunities • Conducive macro-economic environment • Sector policy and strategy • High demand for private sector service (OWNP) • Post construction support • Urban sanitation a driver for private sector • Trade and competition laws encouraging MSF 7
