8. وإ ِْذ واعد َنا مُوسى أَرْ َبعين ل ْيلة ثم اتخذتم العجْ ل من
ِ َ َ َ ً ُ َّ َّ َ ْ ُ ُ ْ ِ َ ِ َ ٰ َ َ َْ
َبعْ ده وأَنتم ظالِمُون
َ ِِ َ ُْ َ
ٰؑ کو چالیس شبانہ روز کی قرارداد پر بالیا، تو اس کے پیچھے تم
یاد کرو، جب ہم نے موسی
بچھڑے کو اپنا معبود بنا بیٹھے اُس وقت تم نے بڑی زیادتی کی تھی
And [recall] when We made an appointment with Moses for
,forty nights. Then you took [for worship] the calf after him
)15( .while you were wrongdoers
11. COMMITTING SHIRK
Narrated Mu'adh bin Jabal: The Prophet said, "O Mu'adh! Do
you know what Allah's Right upon His slaves is?" I said,
"Allah and His Apostle know best." The Prophet said, "To
worship Him (Allah) Alone and to join none in worship with
Him (Allah). Do you know what their right upon Him is?" I
replied, "Allah and His Apostle know best." The Prophet said,
"Not to punish them (if they do so)." (Bukhari)
12. ثم عف ْو َنا عنكم مِّن َبعْ د َٰذلِك لعلَّكم َتشكُ
ِ َ َ َ ُ ْ ْ رُون
َ َ ُ ُ َّ َ َ
مگر اس پر بھی ہم نے تمہیں معاف کر دیا کہ شاید اب تم شکر گزار بنو
Then We forgave you after that so perhaps you
)25( .would be grateful
13. وإ ِْذ آ َت ْي َنا مُوسى الك َتاب والفُرْ قان لعلَّكم َته َتدون
َ ِْ َ َ ْ َ َ ََ ُْ ْ ُ َ َ
ٰؑ کو کتاب )ٹھیک اس وقت جب تم یہ ظلم کر رہے تھے(یاد کرو کہ
ہم نے موسی
اور فرقان عطا کی تاکہ تم اس کے ذریعے سے سیدھا راستہ پاسکو
And [recall] when We gave Moses the Scripture
and criterion that perhaps you would be
)35( .guided
14. REVELATION OF TORAH
• Allah send Books for guiding the Mankind
• Torah was revealed in the form of written slates
15. وإ ِْذ قال مُوسى لِق ْومه َيا ق ْوم إ َِّنكم ظلمتم أَنفُسكم باتخاذكم
َ ٰ َ ِ ِ َ ِ ُ ْ َ َ ْ ُ ْ َ ُ ِ ِّ َ ِ ُ ُ َ َ َ
العجْ ل فتوبُوا إ َِلى َبارئكم فاقتلُوا أَنفُسكم َٰذلِكم خ ْير لَّكُ
َ ُ ْ ُ ْ َ ٌ م عندَ
ْ ِ ٰ ِ ِ ُْ َ ُْ ْ ِ َ َُ
ِ ُ ُ َ َّ ُِِْ َ َ ََ ُْ
َبارئكم ف َتاب عل ْيكم ۚ إ َِّنه هُو التوَّ ابُ الرَّ حيم
لوگو، تم نے بچھڑے کو معبود "نے اپنی قوم سے کہا کہ )یہ نعمت لیتے ہوئے پلٹا، تو اُس(یاد کرو جب موسی
ٰؑ
بنا کر اپنے اوپر سخت ظلم کیا ہے، لہذا تم لوگ اپنے خالق کے حضور توبہ کرو اور اپنی جانوں کو ہالک کرو،
اُس وقت تمہارے خالق نے تمہاری توبہ قبول کر لی کہ "اسی میں تمہارے خالق کے نزدیک تمہاری بہتری ہے
وہ بڑا معاف کرنے واال اور رحم فرمانے واال ہے
And [recall] when Moses said to his people, "O my people, indeed you have
wronged yourselves by your taking of the calf [for worship]. So repent to
your Creator and kill yourselves. That is best for [all of] you in the sight of
your Creator." Then He accepted your repentance; indeed, He is the
)45( .Accepting of repentance, the Merciful
16. HOW REPENTANCE IS ACCEPTED??
• Abu Hurayra said, "I heard the Messenger of Allah, may
Allah bless him and grant him peace, say, 'By Allah, I ask
Allah's forgiveness and turn towards Him in repentance
more than seventy times a day.” (Muslim)
• From Abu Musa 'Abdullah ibn Qays al-Ash'ari is that the
Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said,
"Allah Almighty will stretch out His hand during the night,
turning towards the one who did wrong during the day,
and stretch out His hand during the day, turning towards
the one who did wrong during the night, until the day the
sun rises from the place it set." [Muslim]

18. وإ ِْذ قُ ْلتم َيا مُوسى لن ن ْؤمن لك حتى َنرى ّللا جهْر ً
َّ َ َ َ َ ٰ َ ُّ ِ َ َ َ َ َّ ٰ َ ُْ َ
فأَخذ ْتكم الصَّاعقة وأَنتم َتنظرُون
َُِ َ ُْ ُ َ َ ََ ُُ
ٰؑ سے کہا تھا کہ ہم تمہارے کہنے کا ہرگز یقین نہ کریں گے، جب تک
یاد کرو جب تم نے موسی
نہ دیکھ لیں اس وقت تمہارے دیکھتے )تم سے کالم کرتے(کہ اپنی آنکھوں سے عالنیہ خدا کو
دیکھتے ایک زبردست صاعقے نے تم کو آ لیا
And [recall] when you said, "O Moses, we will never believe
you until we see Allah outright"; so the thunderbolt took you
)55( .while you were looking on

19. ثم َبع ْث َناكم مِّن َبعْ د م ْوتكم لعلَّكم َتشكرُون
ِ َ ُِْ ََ ُْ ْ ُ َ ُ َّ َ ُ
تم بے جان ہو کر گر چکے تھے، مگر پھر ہم نے تم کو جال اٹھایا، شاید کہ اس
ِ
احسان کے بعد تم شکر گزار بن جاؤ
Then We revived you after your death that perhaps
)65( .you would be grateful

20. وظلَّ ْل َنا عل ْيكم الغمام وأَنز ْل َنا عل ْيكم المنَّ والسَّلوى ۚ كلُوا
ُ ََ ُ ُ ْ َ َ َْ ٰ ََ ُُ َْ َ َ َ َ َ َ
َ ُْ
سهم من طي َبات ما رزق َناكم ۚ وما ظلمُو َنا و َٰلكن كانوا أَنفُ
َ ِ َ ُ ِ َ ِّ ِ َ َ َ ْ ُ ْ َ َ َ َ
ْ
َيظلِمُون
َ
ٰؑ کی غذا تمہارے لیے فراہم کی اور تم سے کہا کہ جو پاک چیزیں
ہم نے تم پر ابر کا سایہ کیا، من وسلوی
ہم نے تمہیں بخشی ہیں، اُنہیں کھاؤ، مگر تمہارے اسالف نے جو کچھ کیا، وہ ہم پر ظلم نہ تھا، بلکہ انہوں
نے آپ اپنے ہی اوپر ظلم کیا
And We shaded you with clouds and sent down to you manna and
quails, [saying], "Eat from the good things with which We have
]provided you." And they wronged Us not - but they were [only
)75( .wronging themselves

22. وإ ِْذ قُ ْل َنا ادخلُوا هذه القرْ َية فكلُوا م ْنها حيْث ش ْئتم رغدا
ْ ُ َٰ ِ ِ ْ َ َ َ ُ ِ َ َ ُ ِ ُ ْ َ َ ً َ
ِ َّ ٌ َّ ْ ِ َ ُ ْ َ َ ُ ْ ْ َ
وادخلُوا ال َباب سُجَّ دا وقُولُوا حطة نغفرْ لكم خطا َياكم ۚ
ً َ َ ْ ُ
َ َ ِ ُ ْ ِِ َ
وس َنزيد المُحْ سنين
یہ بستی جو تمہارے سامنے ہے، اس میں داخل ہو جاؤ، اس کی "پھر یاد کرو جب ہم نے کہا تھا کہ،
پیداوار جس طرح چاہو، مزے سے کھاؤ، مگر بستی کے دروازے میں سجدہ ریز ہوتے ہو ئے داخل ہونا
اور کہتے جانا حطۃ حطۃ، ہم تمہاری خطاؤں سے در گزر کریں گے اور نیکو کاروں کو مزید فضل و کرم
”سے نوازیں گے
And [recall] when We said, "Enter this city and eat from it wherever you
,will in [ease and] abundance, and enter the gate bowing humbly and say
'Relieve us of our burdens.' We will [then] forgive your sins for you, and
)85(".]We will increase the doers of good [in goodness and reward
Surah Al-Baqarah
23. ف َبدل الَّذين ظلمُوا ق ْوًل غيْر الَّذي قيل لهم فأَنز ْل َنا على
ََ َ ً َ َ ِ ِ َ َ ُْ َ َ َ َّ َ ِ َ َ َ
ِ َ ََ
الَّذين ظلمُوا رجْ زا مِّن السماء بما كانوا َيفسقُون
ِ ً َ َّ َ ِ ِ َ َ ُ ْ ُ َ
مگر جو بات کہی گئی تھی، ظالموں نے اُسے بدل کر کچھ اور کر دیا آخر کار ہم نے ظلم کرنے
والوں پر آسمان سے عذاب نازل کیا یہ سزا تھی ان نافرمانیوں کی، جو وہ کر رہے تھے
But those who wronged changed [those words] to a statement other than
that which had been said to them, so We sent down upon those who
wronged a punishment from the sky because they were defiantly
)95( .disobeying
Surah Al-Baqarah
24. ALLAH’S PUNISHMENT
Usama reported Allah's Messenger (may peace
be upon him) as saying: Plague is a calamity
which was inflicted on those who were before
you, or upon Bani Isra'il. So when it has
broken out in a land, don't run out of it, and
when it has spread in a land, then don't enter
it. (Muslim)
