  3. 3. no BS. ■ No one has time to read long messages ■ Get to the point as soon as possible ■ Three to four sentences, any more is really pushing it ■ Clarity is key, they should never have to spend time re-reading
  4. 4. rule of 3. 1. Confirm they actually received the email ➜ Within the first few days 2. Remind them they haven’t answered while simultaneously providing them an excuse ➜ 3-5 days 3. Go all chips in. Send them something as simple as “?” ➜ And that's it. More than 3 follow-ups looks oblivious
  5. 5. Yes. It lets them off the hook for not responding earlier and removes awkwardness from the introduction. Example: “I just realized I didn’t specify we also have a US office, which would be happy to meet.” or “I know this time of year is always busy but we should definitely be doing some business together.” I PROVIDE AN EXCUSE?
  6. 6. flex. SHOW MORE THAN TELL ■ Reveal your company’s strength ■ Recent achievements, funding round, super fast growth ■ Name drop their competitors ■ Only share info that benefits them and shows that you’re qualified to work with them
  7. 7. Relationships are the key to success. How do you build relationships? By communicating like a human. you're establishing a relationship.
  8. 8. Imagine you are actually meeting them face to face. Messages that sound somewhat informal and personalized put the reader at ease. write like a human… …speaking to another human
