  3. 3. Compare /dʒ/ with /j/ <ul><li>/j/ appears in the words “you” & “yellow” </li></ul>
  4. 4. <ul><li>Let’s begin with the /dʒ/ phoneme! </li></ul>
  5. 5. <ul><li>Put your tongue tip behind your upper teeth. Then round your lips, as if you were going to kiss someone but with your mouth a bit open. Keep on opening your mouth and let the air come out. </li></ul>
  6. 6. <ul><li>Now I am going to produce the sound and you will repeat it. Are you ready? </li></ul><ul><li>/dʒ/ </li></ul>
  7. 7. <ul><li>Let’s practise a bit more. Listen and repeat: </li></ul><ul><li>jam, danger, joke, major </li></ul>
  8. 8. <ul><li>Perfect! Now that you know how to pronounce the /dʒ/ sound, we are going to switch to the /j/ sound. </li></ul>
  9. 9. <ul><li>The most important thing is that now your tongue isn’t going to touch your teeth. Put your mouth as if you were pronouncing an /i/. The next step depends on the following vowel sound. </li></ul>
  10. 10. <ul><li>Let’s listen to some examples and you will repeat them: </li></ul><ul><li>you, yellow, yet, beauty </li></ul>
