AIMS OF THE PROJECT THE AIM OF THE PROJECT IS TO INTRODUCE A BIG NAME IN EUROPEAN CONTEXT: THE HUMANIST AND THINKER, THE FOUNDER OF EUROPEAN PEDAGOGY…
FOR OUR PROJECT WE CHOOSE THE PERSONALITY OF THE TEACHERS OF NATIONS JOHANNES AMOS COMENIUS
1620 P ersecuted under the Counter Reformation, was a fugitive in his own country (in 1618 the Thirty Years war began ). 1628 F led Moravia to Poland , in Leszno led gymnasium . 16 41 L ived and worked in many different countries in Europe: Sweden , the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth , Transylvania , the Holy Roman Empire , England , the Netherlands , Royal Hungary , again in Leszno . 1648–50 and 1650–56 In 1656 his manuscripts and the school’s printing press were burned down .
1656–70 in Amstedam Died 15 th November 1670 in Amstedam , buried in Naarden , his grave can be visited in the mausoleum devoted to him .
THE PROJECT INTENDS TO FAMILIARIZE CHILDREN WITH SCHOOL LIFE IN 17th CENTURY AND THOSE PEDAGOGICAL METHODS, AND THEN COMPARE THEM WITH THE NEW CONCEPTION OF EDUCATION CREATED BY COMENIUS DURING HIS LIFE. INSPIRED BY HIS IDEAS, WE RECONSTRUCTED HIS PROJECT SCHOLA LUDUS, i. e. TEACHING VIA DRAMA, THE WAY HE DID IT ALONG WITH HIS PUPILS IN THE COURT OF PRINCES OF RÁKOCZI.
FUTHERMORE, WE MAKED A BIG PICTURE BOOK ORBIS PICTUS, WHICH WAS THE VERY FIRST PICTURE BOOK FOT TEACHING CHILDREN .
THEMATIC IN THE FIRST PLACE, WE HAD TO DEAL WITH HOW TO LINK THE LIFE STORY OF COMENIUS WITH HIS PEDAGOGICAL LEGACY. WE DECIDED TO MAKE A GIANT BOOK ORBIS PICTUS AND THEN DEPICT LIFE STAGES OF JAN AMOS COMENIUS EMPHASIZING SCHOOL LIFE IN 17th CENTURY AND CHANGES INTRODUCED INTO TEACHING PROCESS BY COMENIUS. WE WANTED TO SHOW THE TEACHING PROJECT IN THE FORM OF THEATRE PERFORMANCES EXACTLY THE WAY HE, DISTINGUISHED TEACHER, DID IT WITH HIS PUPILS WHEN HE STAYED IN ROYAL HUNGARY.

2. THE NEXT PART OF THE PROJECT REFERS TO THE DRAMA RENDERING OF COMENIUS´ LIFE EVENTS WITH EMPHASIS ON THE SCHOOL SYSTEM AND HIS REFORM ATTEMPTS. WE STUDIED THE LIFE OF PUPILS AND TEACHERS IN 17th CENTURY AS WELL AS COMENIUS´ WORK IN HUNGARY, WHERE, IN THE PRINCE COURT OF RAKOCZI, HE CREATED A UNIQUE PROJECT OF PUPILS´ THEATRE PERFORMANCES CALLED SCHOLA LUDUS.
FOR SETTING THE DRAMA PRODUCTION INTO HISTORIC BUILDINGS, WE USED INTERIORS AND EXTERIORS OF THE CASTLE OF FRYŠTÁT, OSTRAVA, THE MUSEUM OF COMENIUS IN PŘEROV, FULNEK AND WALLACHIAN OPEN-AIR MUSEUM IN ROŽNOV IT WAS ONLY ABOUT 50 SELECTED CHILDREN WHO TOOK PART IN IMPLEMENTING THIS PART OF PROJECT.
THE SCHOOL FOR EVERYBODY THE VISUAL LESSONS THE SUBJECT-MATTER HAS TO BE ADEQUATE TO THE PUPILS´ AGE THE THEORY HAS TO BE CONNECTED WITH THE PRACTICE THE PROCESS FROM SIMPLE TO MORE DIFFICULT THE LESSON HAVE TO BE FUNNY AND INTERESTING THE PUPILS HAVE TO REVISE THE SUBJECT-MATTER
