Workshop aims By the end of the workshop participants will:  Have reflected on the specific IL requirements of postgraduate taught students  Have evaluated new ways of designing online IL learning resources that meet the needs of PGT students  Be able discuss a range of approaches to identifying and meeting the specific requirements of PGT students with colleagues at their own institutions
  3. 3. Introduction  2015/16 Developed a suite of online tutorials dedicated to postgraduate taught students  2017 Evaluated with PGT students  Positively received BUT need more subject-specific examples and to address concerns about level  How do we cater for this diverse student group?

  5. 5. Discussion: ‘Now and How’ What do you currently do now to identify and support the IL requirements of PGT students, particularly online?
  6. 6. How might we…? 2) How might we improve our approaches to identifying requirements of PGT students and our online support?  Select your 3 favourite ideas  Write each idea on a post it and put on the flip chart paper

What are we doing at Cardiff?  Encouraged academic staff to embed the resources at appropriate points to give them meaning within their own discipline  Offered to add subject-specific examples  Pilot project with the School of Biosciences to embed generic online resources in Year 1 online assignment briefs
