Located near the cantonment area, in calm and picturesque surroundings, along Rajaji National Park, with a backdrop of Shivalik hills, the university offers an amicable and suitable ambiance conducive for all academic pursuits. <br />Graphic Era University, a continuum of Graphic Era Institute of Technology, founded in 1998, now has over 8000 strong student count, over 400 dedicated faculty members and more than 300 staff members to support their academic and non-academic activities.<br />The University offers 43 programmes under Faculty of Engineering & Technology, Faculty of Management Studies, Faculty of Computer Applications, Faculty of Allied Sciences, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences<br />Indian Society for History of Mathematics<br />Indian Society for History of Mathematics (ISHM) was founded by late Professor Udita Narayana Singh in the year 1978. The Society aims to promote study, teaching and education in history of mathematical sciences. It provides a forum for exchange of ideas and experiences regarding various aspects of history of mathematical sciences. In addition to annual conferences, ISHM has been organizing seminars/symposia on the work of ancient, medieval and modern mathematicians and has been regularly bringing out its bulletin Ganita Bharati ever since inception. For more details, please refer to its website: http//<br />About Dehradun<br />Dehradun - The capital city of Uttarakhand is a complete blend of city and hill culture. It is set in the foot hills of Himalayas at the centre of the 120 kms long Doon Valley. The name Dehradun is literally made up of two words where Dera means Camp and Dun stands for Valley. The beautiful town is referred as the gateway to Mussoorie and Garhwal interior. It is perhaps one of the oldest cities in India and was occupied in turns by the Sikhs, Mughals and Gurkhas before coming under the reigns of the British. Elite educational and other institutions were established during the British period. The nearest tourist attraction, Mussoorie (Queen of Hills) is just 25 KM from Dehradun. Haridwar and Rishikesh are other nearby tourist and spiritual spots.<br />How to reach Dehradun<br />Dehradun is well connected to the major cities of India, such as New Delhi, Lucknow, Varanasi, Kanpur, Allahabad, Amritsar, Meerut, Bareilly, Mumbai, Kolkata, Jaipur, Ujjain, Indore, Ahmedabad, Thiruvananthapuram etc. Trains are also available from other parts of India. Dehradun is also well connected by Air and Road routes. Regular state and interstate buses are available at ISBT.
