PRESS RELEASE FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE IN INDIA Automotive Dealers Greet Festive Season with a Surge of Confidence Sewells Group Automotive Dealer Confidence Index (ADCI) Survey indicates a strengthened optimistic sentiment across dealers of all vehicle categories Mumbai, 20th October 2014 Sewells Group, a global automotive consulting and outsourcing firm, today released the results of their Automotive Dealer Confidence Index (ADCI) survey for India for the quarter ending September 2014. This is the third edition of the survey since its launch in March 2014. The overall ADCI stood at +14, compared with 0 at the end of the previous quarter. The index has made significant positive movements over the last six months, indicating the rapidly increasing optimism amongst automotive dealers. The Automotive Dealer Confidence Index at the end of Jul-Sep quarter of 2014 is calculated on the basis of the survey conducted in the beginning of October 2014. Responses were received from 178 dealers, across 98 cities, representing 23 different brands. The key highlights from the survey are as under:  The index for passenger cars segment stood at +8 at the end of Jul-Sep quarter, as compared to -3 at the end of Apr-Jun quarter, indicating that surveyed dealers are more optimistic about business in the next six months.  The index for two-wheeler dealers moved from +35 at the end of Jul-Sep quarter, compared with +18 at the end of Apr-Jun quarter, indicating a significant strengthening of positive dealer sentiment.  Commercial vehicle dealer sentiment shows a huge positive swing of +35 points, moving from a moderately pessimistic -35 at the end of the Apr-Jun quarter to a mildly pessimistic -3 at the end of the Jul-Sep quarter. This is a significant swing in sentiment, and indicates that commercial vehicle dealers expect business momentum to pick up in the next few months.  As a result of positive swings in dealer sentiment across all categories, the overall ADCI index at the end of Jul-Sep quarter stood at +14, compared with 0 at the end of the previous quarter. This indicates that on an overall basis, dealers are more optimistic about business momentum with a six-month view.

It is expected that over time, the movement of the index will become a reliable indicator of future sales performance.
