Is it really possible to find happiness and success? YES, but there are NO quick fixes and NO easy methods as others may promise. It takes a personal commitment to a lifetime of hard work and patience. The following slide presentation will get you started by helping you determine your confidence level and will give you the tools to increase your self-esteem.

    20. 20. THE POSITIVE SITUATIONS • Help us break free from being trapped in the pupal stage • Move us forward with confidence • Help us deal effectively with life’s difficulties • Allow us to set realistic goals and work towards them

    29. 29. SELF-ESTEEM When we feel good about ourselves and can accept our strengths and weaknesses, we will build confidence and our self-esteem will grow.

    40. 40. DO SOMETHING POSITIVE • Watch positive, uplifting TV programs • Read positive books • Listen to happy, upbeat music • Start exercising regularly & eat healthy foods • Join an interest group or start a hobby

SURROUND YOURSELF WITH POSITIVE PEOPLE • Increase time spent with positive people • Decrease or eliminate time spent with negative people (may be difficult to do with negative family members or close friends, but do your best) • When around negative people, try to focus on being positive • Get together with some friends and watch a funny movie or do some fun activities
    42. 42. TRY TO BE POSITIVE TOWARDS OTHERS Being positive and helping others will also make you feel good and help build confidence. • Give special gifts (simple & inexpensive) • Spend quality time • Use kind, encouraging words • Volunteer for a local organization
