Collaboration – what does this word mean?
The word collaboration means working together with 1 or more people in order to achieve something. Other words that mean the same thing are teamwork, partnership, association, alliance, relationship, cooperation or group effort.
Question – Why do geese fly in a V formation?
Answer – when geese fly together, it increases the reach of their flight by 71% compared to only 1 bird flying. What lesson can we learn from collaboration?
What does the word organization mean?
The word organization means to coordinate or arrange something into a structured group.
Question – What happens when a goose starts drifting in another direction away from the flock?
Answer – The goose will feel air resistance and will have difficulty in flying alone. This will remind the goose that it should get back into the formation so it can take advantage of the lifting power from the other geese in front. What lesson can we learn from Organization?
Organization creates harmony. The task will not be so difficult and it will be easier to reach the goals. If we have as much sense as a goose, we will stay in formation with those who are headed the same way we are. Start activity part 3………..
Sharing – what does this word mean?
Sharing means to have something in common and to take responsibility together.
Question – When the lead goose gets tired, what happens to the flock?
Answer The lead goose goes to the end of the formation and another one takes on as lead. In this way, all the work and problems are shared. The geese can unite their abilities, resources and capacities. What lesson can we learn from Sharing?
Sharing teaches us how to create an effective team and respect others. It shows us that the workload is not so heavy when working as a team and it allows us to take turn doing different jobs. Start activity part 4………….
Encouragement – what does this word mean?
Encouragement means to give hope, confidence and urge to do something.
Question – why do geese squawk when flying in formation?
They squawk or honk to give encouragement and to provide assistance to those in front so they are able to maintain their speed. What lesson can we learn from Encouragement?
Encouragement helps us make greater progress. Actions and sounds or words will motivate and promote the best outcome. Start activity part 5………..
Unity – what does this word mean?
Unity means to combine or bring together.
Question – what happens if a goose becomes ill, is hurt or tired?
The goose will leave the formation and go to the ground. Two other geese will follow it down to lend help and protection. They will stay with the goose until it is well enough to fly, or until it dies. The geese will then rejoin their flock or find another formation to fly with. What lesson can we learn from Unity?
Unity provides support during any situation. It helps overcome stress and adds value to friendships. If we have the sense of a goose, we will stand by each other as a good friend should do. Complete activity.
