Task focus <ul><li>Establish an English portal of “Digital Taiwan – Culture & Nature” to integrate all TELDAP resources </li></ul><ul><li>Expand international exchanges : To share information, through the portal, with global organizations, e.g. The Culture Mondo Network ( 世界文化入口網 ) and GBIF ( 全球生物多樣性資訊機構 ); TELDAP achievements can be viewed from worldwide websites </li></ul><ul><li>Integrate non-TELDAP English-language databases established by Taiwan’s various agencies and institutions </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Culture: Council for Cultural Affairs (www.culture.tw) </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Nature: NSC, COA, MOI’s National Parks, MEA’s Water Resources Agency, EPA, Ministry of Education, etc. </li></ul></ul><ul><li>Introduce new techniques and standards from abroad </li></ul>

Problems <ul><li>“ Open access data sharing” (e.g. Creative Commons) needs to be advocated </li></ul><ul><li>Material highly professional and in Chinese, translation pace slow </li></ul><ul><li>Entry barrier low and duplicability high for digitization work, how to safeguard quality? </li></ul>
