What is the Texas STaR Chart? <ul><li>The Texas STAR Chart was developed by the Texas Education Agency Educational Technology Advisory Committee , as an online resource tool for self-assessment of your campus’ and district’s efforts to integrate technology across the curriculum. </li></ul><ul><li>It is aligned with the Texas Long Range Plan for Technology, 2006-2020. </li></ul><ul><li>Its rubric serves as the standard for assessing technology preparedness in Texas K-12 schools . </li></ul>Source: TEA Texas Star Chart

Why is the Texas Campus STAR Chart important? <ul><li>The Texas Campus STaR Chart is a tool designed for use in technology planning, budgeting for resources, and evaluation of progress in local technology projects. </li></ul><ul><li>It is required for all applications for state funded technology grants. </li></ul><ul><li>It is used as an indicator of current status and progress and as a formative and/or summative evaluation tool. </li></ul><ul><li>It is used to report on progress toward fulfilling the requirements of NCLB, Title II, Part D. </li></ul>Source: TEA Texas Star Chart

What is the purpose of the Texas Campus STaR chart? <ul><li>To produce a profile of the campus’ status toward reaching the goals of the Long Range Plan for Technology (LRPT) and No Child Left Behind. </li></ul><ul><li>The produced profile indicators will place campuses at one of four levels of progress in each key areas of the LRPT: </li></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>Early Tech </li></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>Developing Tech </li></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>Advanced Tech </li></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>Target Tec </li></ul></ul></ul>Source: TEA Texas Star Chart
