  2. 3. <ul><li>Lakmé Fashion Week (LFW) is jointly organised by Lakmé, the No.1 cosmetics and beauty services brand in India and IMG, the global leader in fashion weeks and event production. </li></ul><ul><li>LFW has been conceived and created with a vision to “Redefine the future of fashion and Integrate India into the global fashion world”. </li></ul><ul><li>LFW is organized twice every year. LFW Winter / Festive 2011 held from August 16 to August 21, 2011 at Grand Hyatt Hotel, Mumbai. </li></ul>INTRODUCTION OF LFW
  3. 4. <ul><li>Amalraj Sengupta, a NIFT Kolkata 2008 Graduate majoring in fashion design. </li></ul><ul><li>The basic concept of the label “AMALRAJ SENGUPTA” is futuristic, which takes into account structural experimentation in avant-garde philosophy. </li></ul><ul><li>For him creativity knows no boundaries and holds no bondages. </li></ul>DESIGNER PROFILE [AMALRAJ SENGUPTA]
  4. 5. <ul><li>He presumes fashion to be a form of art so expressive as to be able to exhibit one’s thoughts and bring them to reality. </li></ul><ul><li>His design vocabulary is unique and inspiring. His garment highlights being remarkable patterns, structures and astonishing interplay of fabrics and colours with impeccable finish. </li></ul><ul><li>He gets inspired with anything, starting from nature, people, culture, to movies. </li></ul><ul><li>He believes it’s very important to have a signature style for a designer as people should know you by your work and not your face. As the industry is growing so fast and new designers are coming in, it’s important so that you and your work do not get lost in the crowd of the existing and new upcoming designers. </li></ul>
  6. 7. <ul><li>Amalraj Sengupta presented a line that revealed the creative blends of Asian inspirations </li></ul><ul><li>He used the Persian blue, flowery peaches and camel browns for his collection. </li></ul><ul><li>He is an an expert at fabric texturing, Amalraj fused the various versatile options and gave them innovative dimensions that completely left the original feel far behind. </li></ul><ul><li>Going for his trade mark asymmetric silhouettes, but added large doses of feminine touches. </li></ul>.

Used a choice of georgette, chiffon, pure cotton, silk, linen and even knits; the designer played with these contrasting fabric weights but eventually produced a harmonious fashionable result. The men’s and women’s line with extreme detailing, quilting and zipper interest had a marked oriental look with extended shoulders and Obe like leather belts for the women’s waists. Women’s wear was elaborately crafted with chiffon blouses that bubbled up with pleats, and accordion pleated skirts were a constant for most of the dresses in muted shades of blue, purple, saffron, pink and grey.
  8. 20. <ul><li>The Lakme fashion week Winter / Festive 2011 was a great experience. All the designers were so prompt in their unique designing and fabrics. </li></ul><ul><li>This was our first experience to see a professional fashion show with national & international models. </li></ul><ul><li>We met celebrities like Pooja bedi, Shaan, Mayank & Shraddha, Rageshwari. </li></ul>
  9. 21. <ul><li>We also met the top designer of the industry Manish Malhotra. </li></ul><ul><li>All the designs & themes were unique and contradictory. </li></ul>
  10. 22. <ul><li>The overall experience at The Lakme Fashion week Winter / Festive 2011 was so inspiring. </li></ul><ul><li>We learnt a lot about designing from designers, different kinds of fabrics, colour usage they did in in there collection. </li></ul>
