This document summarizes a solar-powered cold storage solution for small farmers in developing countries. It describes the problem of significant post-harvest food loss for smallholder farmers due to lack of cold storage. The proposed solution is to install walk-in, solar-powered cold stations that can preserve foods for up to 21 days, extending their shelf life. Initial results show that 5 pilot stations saved over 5,000 tons of food and increased farmers' incomes. The company aims to scale this by deploying 40 additional cold storage hubs across Nigeria to serve over 7,000 farmers.
