ABOUT AGE UK WALSALL Previously Age Concern Walsall and has had presence in borough since 1996. Independent charity, affiliated to the National organisation of Age UK (new name for merged charities of Age Concern England and Help the Aged). Organisation going through constant change in order to remain sustainable within the current economic climate.

AIMS AND VISIONAIMS: to improve the quality of life for older people in Walsall by actively working to promote choice, independence, inclusion and dignity whilst helping to overcome isolation, exclusion and discrimination.PRINCIPLES: Ageism is unacceptable All people have the right to make decisions about their lives. People less able to help themselves should be afforded support Diversity is valued in all that we do.

OUR SERVICES Information & Advice Dementia Carers’ Support Service Friendship Support Scheme (paid for service) Advocacy Direct Payment Support Help at Home – (in partnership with Caldmore Housing – paid-for service) Taste for life – (in partnership with Caldmore Housing) Pathways for Life (in partnership with Accord Housing Association) Trading – insurance and other products
