CONSEQUENCES • SOCIETAL DEGENERATION, • PARENTAL POVERTY • HIGH LEVELS OF ILLITERACY • LOSS OF VALUES • WAYWARDNESS OF THE YOUTHS • PARENTS AND GUARDIANS LOST CONTROL OF THEIR WARDS • RAMPANT DRUG ABUSE AMONG THE YOUTHS, • ANTISOCIAL ACTIVITIES • VIOLENCE PARTICULARLY AMONG THE YOUNG MEN • PROSTITUTION AND BEGGING.

WHAT THE GOVERNMENT DID IMMEDIATELY • A COMMITTEE WAS SETUP BY THE STATE GOVERNMENT TO FASHION OUT OPERATIONAL MODALITIES • CREATION OF AN AGENCY FOR YOUTH AND WOMEN REHABILITATION AND DEVELOPMENT,(BAYWARD) • TRANSFORMED INTO THE BAUCHI STATE COMMISSION FOR YOUTH AND WOMEN REHABILITATION AND DEVELOPMENT (BACYWORD) • ENACTMENT OF AN EDICT BY THE STATE HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY IN 2009 WITH A CLEAR-CUT MANDATE

OBJECTIVE • TO PROVIDE EMPLOYMENT, CREATE WEALTH AND EXPAND THE EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES FOR THE TEAMING YOUTH AND WOMEN OF BAUCHI STATE. • DESIGN PROGRAMMES THAT WILL FOSTER PEACE, SECURITY, GENERATE EMPLOYMENT, IMPROVE SCHOOL RETENTION, ENHANCE YOUTH EDUCATIONAL FORTUNES THROUGH FURTHER EDUCATION.
