  1. 1. MICROCONTROLLER BASED MOISTURE MONITOR & CONTROLLING SYSTEM AIM: The main aim of this project is to monitor and control the soil moisture of the agricultural field. PURPOSE: The purpose of the project is to provide the details of soil fertility of the agriculture field. POWER SUPPLY: Step Down Transformer DESCRIPTION: Bridge Rectifier Filter Circuit Regulator section Appropriate environmental conditions are necessary for optimum plant growth, improved Crop yields, and efficient use of water and other resources. Automating the data acquisition Process of the soil conditions and various climatic parameters that govern plant growth allows information to be collected at high frequency with less labor requirements. The existing systems employ PC for keeping the user continuously informed of the conditions inside the greenhouse; but are unaffordable, bulky, difficult to maintain and less accepted by the technologically unskilled workers. The objective of this project is to provide a combination of manual supervision and partial automation and is similar to manual set-up in most respects but it reduces the labor
  3. 3. involved in terms of Irrigation design is simple, easy to install, microcontroller-based circuit to monitor and record the values of temperature, soil moisture (Transistor circuit) and light of the natural environment that are continuously modified and controlled in order optimize them to achieve maximum plant growth and yield. Using this project we can know the soil moisture condition like wet and dry conditions with the help of soil sensor, it will give the status of the soil to the microcontroller based on that microcontroller will display the status of the soil on the LCD. When the soil condition is dry, microcontroller will switch the pumping motor through relay. Now pumping motor will pump the water to the field until the field is wet, is identified by the microcontroller. This project uses regulated 5V, 500MA power supply, 7805 three terminal voltage regulator is used for voltage regulation. Bridge type full wave rectifier is used to rectify the ac output of secondary of 230/12V step down transformer.
