This annual report is an overview of the major achievements in improving the livelihoods of farmers who are end users of the results of our research. The groundnut breeding program at ICRISAT-WCA works with the national agricultural research systems (NARS) in the region to strengthen the multi-environment testing of breeding lines in order to identify improved varieties that are high yielding, tolerant/resistant to drought, foliar diseases (rosette, leaf spots) and aflatoxin for target environments. The sahel, sudan and guinea savannahs are the main target agroecologies.
